
A man has been arrested suspected in the fatal strangulation of a woman under a restraining order in a domestic violence issue in Denver.
Denver Police department said that Jose Vallejo-Cano, 25 years old, had been arrested as a suspect in the death of 23 years old Araceli Esparza Miranda in the weekend.
GoFundMe page had been set up for Miranda’s benefit, who is the mother of four children, who’s ages are between 8 months to 6 years . The page identified Vallejo-Cano and Miranda had a husband and wife relationship.
arrest affidavit in the case said that Miranda’s body had been found in the 4800 block of Kingston Street lying on the back seat of an SUV, on Saturday .
Vallejo-Cano, who was located at the scene hiding himself behind a trash bin, has been held on murder suspection in the first degree.
The victim’s mother immediately called police around 4:15 AM on Saturday, expressing her concern for the daughter’s safety after Vallejo-Cano had removed one monitored ankle bracelet and the victim’s family had been notified. Miranda was already victimised in the domestic violence case earlier involving Vallejo-Cano.
The affidavit said that he had been arrested on Oct. 2 in Aurora of a domestic violence case for reportedly choking Miranda,. Aurora police responded to the domestic violence case saying that Miranda had been found lying on the floor of hallway moaning in pain and cried “Help me, help me, I can’t breath.”
Vallejo-Cano, who was present at the scene in Aurora, had been arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Vallejo-Cano had got released from the Arapahoe County Jail on Oct 05 posting $30,000 bail.
