How to Use Coffee for Hair Growth

From reducing the risk of heart disease to serving as acne-treatment, coffee holds multiple benefits. Coffee has a good deal of antioxidants and compounds that fight skin problems. In addition, it is also helpful in stimulating follicles to increase hair growth. Yes, coffee could be an inexpensive and effective hair growth remedy!

Coffee is being used as a part of hair care for quite some time now. Caffeine, the ingredient present in coffee is known for its psychoactive effects. Caffeine helps to cut down phosphodiesterase, an enzyme that interferes with hair growth in humans. When the enzyme reduces in circulation, a second messenger cyclic adenosine monophosphate increases.

The molecules that pass on messages from hormones and other neurotransmitters get signaled to increase the production of certain cells. In this case.

Caffeine as well as acts against the side effects of testosterone, one of which is sudden hair loss. It also stimulates inactive hair follicles and forces them to grow hair.   



How to Use Coffee for Hair Growth?   

Treating Hair with Coffee Grounds   

Coffee grounds have a component that helps in darkening your hair and as well give a glow to it.

1. Brew a pot of coffee with a handful of grounds   

2. Massage a handful of cooled coffee grounds into your scalp and scrunch it into your longer locks. If you want the coffee scrub to be part of your regular grooming routine, you can dry out the grounds and then add them to your shampoo, hair oil, or conditioner.

3. Rinse your hair until you are sure you washed out all the coffee grounds.

Treating Hair with Coffee Rinse   

1. Prepare a strong pot of coffee.

2. Rinse your hair as you always do with a shampoo. Make sure you rinse it well.

3. Starting at the roots, pour cold coffee through your hair. You can also spray cold coffee onto your hair to make the task easier by just transferring coffee into a spray bottle.  

4. Wrap your hair in a shower cap for about an hour 60 minutes. You can also use a towel in case you don’t have a shower cap. The longer you wrap your hair and let coffee in, the darker your hair may become.

Rinse your hair with warm water and let it dry.
